Private Ballet Lesson in Tokyo: Welcoming 6-Year-Old Nana 🩰

Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming 6-year-old Nana to mika Ballet Studio for a private ballet lesson in Tokyo.

She has ballet experience, so we began with stretching, carefully working on how to lengthen and point the toes.

At the barre, we used both hands on the barre and took our time focusing on how to use the body correctly.

In the center, we practiced soft and gentle arm movements together.

We then extended the lesson by 30 minutes to work on Florina’s variation, which She had also performed at a ballet competition in China.

First, I watched Nana dance the variation. I then gave her some detailed advice about her use of the body and asked her to try it again.

She listened carefully and beautifully incorporated the advice into her dancing. It was wonderful to see how focused and thoughtful she was throughout the lesson.

As She does not speak Japanese, her father kindly helped translate during the lesson.

After the lesson, her father shared some very kind words:

“Your lesson was truly wonderful, and Nana looked like she was having such a great time.”

He also told us that even after returning home, Nana said, “I want to do ballet with my teacher again.”

Hearing this made me very happy. ♡

Ballet Lessons for Children Visiting Tokyo

At mika Ballet Studio, we offer private ballet lessons tailored to each child’s experience, level, and individual goals.

Through TabiTots, we also offer special ballet experiences for children visiting or staying in Tokyo.

During longer school holidays such as summer or winter vacation, we can also arrange several consecutive lessons.

Depending on your preference, lessons can be arranged as a private lesson for one child or as a small-group workshop for two or three children.
